During the 2012 election, many Americans, eager to exercise their right to vote, viewed their choice of candidates with disgust. Those impacted most heavily by the failing economy continue to be outraged, calling for reform. However, few remember or realize what happened when Americans had another choice, and had the opportunity to reform the system. Few remember Ross Perot's political battle for the people. Unintimidated by the political system, Pat Benjamin, author of The Perot Legacy: A New Political Path, is determined to remind America of its potential; confront the politicians; and show modern-day Americans the similarities between then and now, demonstrating how the people can take America back.

Benjamin's accounting of the events leading up to and during Ross Perot's presidential campaigns is not trite historical fact, but is based on her involvement as an activist and Perot campaigner. She offers a look back at the man who inspired ordinary men and women, aged 14 to 80, to fight for their right to have a political choice in whom they believed. The Perot Legacy: A New Political Path is a tell-all expose, shedding light on the back room deals, intimidation, stalkers, and death threats that littered the campaign trail. Pat's anger fueled her need to write this book. And, The Perot Legacy: A New Political Path is meant to channel America's anger into a drive towards political change.

Equally important is the light Benjamin sheds on the current terrorist threat which began with the falling of the Twin Towers on September 11th, 2001. Driven by her passion to prepare Americans for dealing with terrorism, Benjamin shares her United We Stand: Emergency Preparedness Program with readers which lays out a plan to protect all Americans.

More than just a political memoir, The Perot Legacy: A New Political Path builds a platform for Benjamin to focus America's current frustration and disgust for politics into a proactive movement. Through her personal anecdotes, insider opinions, and sound political discourse, Benjamin gives citizens the tools needed to take back their political power. Addressing current issues such as immigration, law enforcement, education, health care reform, debt, deficits, and tax reform, The Perot Legacy: A New Political Path offers hope for a functioning federal government.

    About the Author:
Pat Benjamin is a political activist, author, speaker, founder of the New Jersey Reform Party, and former Vice Chair of the National Reform Party. Benjamin's involvement in politics began in the 1950s with Martin Luther King's Civil Rights Movement, followed by the Feminist Movement. After her activism in the 1960s and 1970s, Benjamin's involvement in politics waned. However, her role in politics began again in earnest when Independent candidate Ross Perot ran for United States President in 1992 and 1996. Her activism continued following 9/11 when she founded a national citizen-based crisis network and produced an emergency preparedness handbook. She also hosted a radio show -- The Independent Voice -- from 2008 to 2011. Benjamin currently resides in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
