  • (1888PressRelease) March 04, 2011 - With scarves a ubiquitous global fashion must have, Moodys Worldwide gave their tips today on ways to wear your scarf this coming season. Scarves featured prominently on this seasons runways at the London Fashion Week, tipped as one the hottest trends in women's accessories. The team at Moodys Worldwide gave their take on the world's most versatile womenswear accessory: the fashion scarf.

This year scarves became sultry headwear during Fashion Week, knotted at the nape of the neck. Super smooth hairstyles complemented the look with the scarf trailing down the shoulders:

"This has to be one of our favourite trends for 2011. It has a timeless elegance - women have always had a special relationship with scarves. They're worn as a pick me up, in beautiful fabrics and colours that bring lustre to any outfit. Our lighter scarves can double up as headscarves and we have the perfect sizing, for example our Embroider Border Silk Stole works really well here. You have the silk, which is very much in tune with this season's emphasis on fine fabrics. You have hand finished embroidery, which picks up on the trend for authentic English styling that you're going to be seeing everywhere. It's crucially the right size to really float down the shoulders. But you have a hand finished high quality piece that will last you far longer than just one season, with an air of absolutely timeless elegance"

Scarves have undergone an explosive global renaissance in recent years, rocketing back into fashion as the instant chameleons of the busy woman's wardrobe. As well as contemporary neckwear and headscarves, they are now appearing as belts, sarongs, 'instant' stylish shoulder bags and more.

"We have an entire collection devoted to fashion scarves and we love our versatile Dots Crinkle Shawl. At 200 by 80cm, it works as a flowing headscarf; neckwear; a sarong or a belt. Wine, teal and purple fall in line with the brights trend, whereas in brown you give a nod to the ballet look. Blue obviously follows New York, and black is obviously a perennial favourite. You can knot it low at the nape of the neck for a headscarf and you've still got the play on it to elegantly trail. Sarongs for the beach are easy, either fold and knot at the waist or use it as a dress with a knot at the nape again. As a dress it's a wonderful way to flatter curves. Wind it back to front to follow the contours of the body, cross over at the bust and tie the ends behind the neck. Another scarf/sarong this season is our Wallpaper Print Viscose Shawl. It's beautifully light and it has that very current William Morris feel to it. Again, it's very subtle, so it simply won't date once the season closes".
