  • (1888PressRelease) January 30, 2012 - Two of Lunabrite Light Technology's products have been chosen as 2011 Products of the Year by Chicago-based Inventables, an online hardware store for inventors and designers. Inventables offers artists, designers, developers, and researchers access to products used to build prototypes or test concepts. Its Top 10 most popular products for desktop fabrication in 2011 included both Lunabrite Ribbon and the Lunabrite Rope. According to Lunabrite President, Barbara Sommer, "this is a great honor for our company". She added, " having two products on the Top 10 list is such an privilege knowing that Inventables has over 30,000 products."

    Coming in at the 10th most popular position, Inventables touted Lunabrite's Ribbon for its glow-in-the- dark polymer and durable tear-resistant qualities. The polymer material is ultra thin with the highest glow output available. Lunabrite Ribbon offers specialized nightglow effects, and is engineered to provide an illuminating glow from dusk until dawn making it ideal for night safety and design applications.

    According to Inventables, the qualities of Ribbon make it ideal for sewing into a variety of garments. Sommer stated, " the availability of Ribbon's vibrant palette of custom colors and the ability to cut the product into strips of differing sizes and shapes adds to its functionality and attractiveness to a broad range of uses."

    The selection of Rope in second place was due to the product presenting a new set of robust, shock-resistant alternatives to powered electroluminescence. Sommer stated that being so close to the top out of an impressive and expansive line of so many products is an affirmation that Lunabrite is continuing to create an innovative line of illumination products that enhance safety and visibility.
