  • Orange County, CA (1888PressRelease) June 18, 2012 - Award-winning KTGY Group, Inc., Architecture + Planning, is pleased to announce that KTGY Principal Manny Gonzalez, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP has been invited to be a speaker at the PCBC 2012 show, Homebuilding's Premier Tradeshow and Conference, held June 27-28, 2012, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Calif. Gonzalez is a frequent guest speaker and panelist at various industry events and webinars.

On Thursday, June 28, at 11:00 a.m., as part of PCBC's 50+ Housing Forum, Gonzalez will lead a lively discussion about "Beyond the Clubhouse: Embracing a New Concept of Wellness." Boomers and consumers are looking for ways to age well, and this is radically changing the age-qualified housing marketplace. Developers and providers must adapt to include new "wellness" concepts that go beyond health and fitness, to encompass lifestyle programming tailored to the needs of a more active and adventurous consumer. Gonzalez and panelists will explore some of the nation's leading lifestyle programs and amenities, which optimally balance space, scale, design and functionality. Attendees will learn what senior communities can do to promote active aging - making a difference for potential buyers, while also promoting resident satisfaction and quality of life.

Also on June 28, as part of PCBC's Design Trends Forum, Gonzalez will serve as a panelist at the session, "Multifamily Low Density: For Rent or For Sale and Value Engineered," at 1:15 pm. It is estimated that 9.1 million new renters will enter the housing market between 2010 and 2015, fueling demand for apartments. In "urban light" markets, garden apartments, condos and townhouses can offer contemporary design and an atmosphere of urban edge, while also incorporating desirable green spaces. And smart, sophisticated designs are now pushing the envelope in densities for on-grade walk-up and low-rise (3-4 stories) multifamily housing. Gonzalez and the other panelists will share how they're rethinking the way multifamily communities are developed-and how to maximize your share of this burgeoning market.

Gonzalez is the senior partner in KTGY's Santa Monica office and President of KTGY Group, Colorado. He is responsible for the design, land planning, and production of developments throughout the western U.S. as well as active adult and affordable multi-family communities nationwide.

In his more than 25 years of practice in residential development, Gonzalez has won numerous awards for his outstanding designs including Gold Nugget, Best in American Living, NAHB Best of 50+ Housing and Pillars of Industry, MAME and Elan. Gonzalez is currently on the Board of Directors for PCBC and is the Design Trends Forum Chair. He also sits on the Board of the National Multi Housing Council and the NAHB Multifamily Leadership Board. He has served as Chair of the AIA Housing Committee and a member of the BIA Board of Directors and national committees for The 50+ Symposium and University of Housing.

He has been featured in Builder & Developer's list of Who's Who in Homebuilding for many years and was honored with the SAGE "Person of the Year" by BIA Southern California 55+ Housing Council. Gonzalez has written and contributed to scores of articles on residential design and is the Editorial Advisory Board (EAB) Chair for 50+ Housing Magazine and is an EAB member for 50+ Builder magazine. Gonzalez has presented his observations to audiences at numerous local, regional and national conferences as well as the 1st International Housing Conference of the Americas in Mexico City.

Gonzalez has also been invited to be a judge in the MHN Excellence Awards program, recognizing the multifamily industry's most noteworthy people, companies and properties, and served as a judge at PCBC's Parade of Products this year.
