  • Memphis, TN-AR-MS (1888PressRelease) June 04, 2010 - Innovo Publishing, LLC released a new Christian title for kids: My Little Brother Chrisno, written by 7-year old Drake Gunnell and his mom Darlene Gunnell. My Little Brother Chrisno is the true story of how Angel Missions Haiti (a non-profit agency) brought life and hope to a little Haitian boy with special needs. When two-year-old Chrisno is brought to Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia, for medical treatment, he receives much more. Chrisno is eventually adopted into a family of five, including three big brothers!

This book was written especially for children to give them an understanding of adoption and how to relate to people with special needs. By donating 25% of all proceeds from the sale of the book to Angel Missions Haiti, the Gunnell Family wishes to acknowledge Angel Missions Haiti and all healthcare workers who go above and beyond the call of duty to save lives through their charitable acts of compassion.

"Generous hands are blessed hands because they give bread to the poor." -Proverbs 22:9

"Chrisno has received not only the miracle of modern medical care in America, but the miracle of a family that has taken him in and loves him dearly." -Jack Whisler, Children's Miracle Network

"What the Gunnell Family has done for Chrisno is beyond description, given his handicap and his need for constant attention and care. I could cry sometimes when I think of what they give in Jesus' name." -Gus A. Wolman, III, Winners Circle Country Music Publishing

"The value of this book lies in its ability to bring out the kindness in each of us by sharing the generosity and love of each member of this beautiful family. They remind me of the bounty we reap when we love one another. One candle can dispel the darkness." - Dr. Kitty Humpherys, Village Family Physicians, Centra Medical Group, sponsors of the Children's Miracle Network through the Centra Foundation.

On Saturday, June 5th, the Gunnells will appear on the Children's Miracle Network Telethon to share how Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital has been instrumental in helping Chrisno. The telethon is being aired locally on WSET (ABC Channel 13) in Roanoke, Virginia.

My Little Brother Chrisno is available now in the U.S. and internationally in paperback and Apple iPad iBook™ editions.
