  • Milwaukee-Waukesha, WI (1888PressRelease) February 24, 2007 - Elm Grove, Wisconsin – The high school youth of Community United Methodist Church will be in mission working with the people of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains in and around Ashe and Allegheny counties from April 8th to April 15th, 2007. We’re excited to have the opportunity to be of service to others as we work on home repair, building and community revitalization as the main focus of our mission.

Borrowing from the concept of internet pixel advertising, the Community Youth Fellowship 2007 Spring Mission announces the launch of an all new, very unique, interactive internet-based fundraising campaign. With the help of web designer, Dan Baker of Wonderful Web Creations we have created the website http://www.youthmissiontrip.org to help us raise money for our mission expenses. The main page of the website contains a pixel grid segmented into “building blocks.” The “building blocks” on our site signify the work of building that is at the core of our mission. Each “block” of the grid is available for sponsorship. As blocks are sponsored a piece of our mystery photo is revealed.

Kris Schulz, Youth Coordinator for the group said, “We are looking for sponsors of the empty blocks you see on the ‘Block Party’ page. Our goal is to get a sponsor for each block. When a block is sponsored another piece of our picture is revealed. When every block is sponsored our mystery photo will be complete and one of our many fundraising goals will be met!”

Kris continued, “We believe this is the first fundraising site of its kind on the internet. What makes this site unique is that it benefits both our mission and our sponsors.”

With every block sponsored, the sponsor’s name is added to our online List of Sponsors. Each sponsor has an opportunity to create a personalized message to the group that will appear when a Block Party site visitor points to the block sponsored. For our business sponsors this service offers internet exposure and name recognition. Business sponsors can also opt to enhance their sponsorship by adding a link to their business website from their sponsored block as well as their listing on our List of Sponsors page.

Businesses, families, groups or individuals can additionally choose to include an ad in their sponsorship. All ads appear on our Sponsor’s Ads page. An ad can have a special message to the group or a professional or business may choose to advertise their company or offer specials. If any business opts to include a link with Block Party sponsorship, the purchased ad will also link to their business website. All ads are randomly redistributed on the page every time the page is loaded. This provides every advertiser multiple opportunities for top billing of their ad!

Sponsors can be assured that over 80% of their sponsorship dollars go directly to help offset the expenses for the worthwhile mission work of the Community Youth Fellowship 2007 Spring Mission

“One of the many reasons we decided to use this form of fundraising is the low overhead costs. This project enables people near and far to not only support our mission, but to have an opportunity to ‘see’ their sponsorship via the internet. The far reaching exposure of our mission work and large percentage of the sponsorship dollars going directly into the project are a big plus.” Kris added, “Besides, it’s just plain FUN!”
