  • (1888PressRelease) September 22, 2006 - PASADENA, CA - Highland Development Company, a subsidiary of The Marcus & Millichap Company and a dynamic retail and retail-driven mixed-use development company, announced that David Rose has been named Site Acquisitions Director. This announcement comes on the heels of Gregory N. Hoxworth being named Chief Executive Officer and President as well as Michael J. Singelyn being appointed Director of Development.

    “David’s longstanding industry relationships, in-depth multi-market knowledge and keen ability to evaluate and capitalize on real estate opportunities allow us to aggressively pursue our goal of acquiring additional projects throughout the Western U.S.,” says Hoxworth. “He has an outstanding track record and has secured development entitlements for over 7.5 million square feet of commercial space, industrial and office space. We are thrilled to have him as part of our executive team.”

    As Site Acquisitions Director, Rose is responsible for identifying retail land and existing shopping centers within target markets to identify new acquisition opportunities for Highland. His duties also include assisting in the due diligence process, preparation of financial analysis of prospective acquisitions and preparation of materials for executive review. He is also responsible for preparing market/trade area analysis and interfacing and coordinating the processing of opportunities with other departments in the company’s office in Pasadena, Calif.

    Prior to joining Highland, Rose was a Development Partner for Arizona Partners, LLC in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he was responsible for acquisition, development and leasing of commercial and mixed-use properties throughout the southwest, including Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah. He also served as Vice President, Acquisitions and Development for Crown Realty and Development in Irvine, California; Real Estate Manager for Extended Stay America Hotels in Corona, California; and Project Manager for Anaheim Gardenwalk (Pointe Anaheim).

    Rose is an active member in the International Council of Shopping Centers and Rotary International. He is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California, where he earned a Masters in Business Administration.
