Hbcu Senior Bowl, Agrees To 5 (Five) Year Deal With City Of Montgomery

The HBCU Senior Bowl, the nation’s premier post-season football classic, will showcase the best senior talent HBCU football has to offer. The inaugural match up between players from the SWAC and SIAC (WEST Team) versus the MEAC and CIAA (EAST Team) will take place on December 19, 2009 at historic Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama. Montgomery, AL (1888PressRelease) September 09, 2009 - This event will undoubtedly host some of the best talent in the NCAA, as shown by the success of players such as Jerry Rice, Steve McNair, Michael Strahan, Aeneas William, Shannon Sharpe, and many more.

The WEST will be coached by former NFL player and current Alabama State Hornets head coach, Reggie Barlow. Coach Barlow, former Super Bowl Champion with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, brings an impressive playing resume to the game and is the catalyst for Alabama State football’s return to glory. The EAST will be coached by the legendary Joe Taylor, head coach of the Florida A&M Rattlers. Coach Taylor has over 30 years of coaching experience which includes a Division II National Championship and two Historical Black College National Championships.

The HBCU Senior Bowl and the City of Montgomery, Alabama have signed a 5 year agreement to hold the game at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama through 2013. This contract agreement shows the commitment between the HBCU Senior Bowl and the City of Montgomery to support and grow this game.

The mission of the HBCU Senior Bowl is to showcase the talent of the best draft eligible HBCU football players. These players will be evaluated by NFL, CFL, UFL, and Arena football coaches and scouts, as well as, receiving post college financial planning information.

Tickets for the 2009 HBCU Senior Bowl are currently being sold at all Ticketmaster outlets or the day of the game at historic Cramton Bowl.
