Halmahera Resources is regularly implementing new measures to increase its mining industry safety standards.

The document has been discussed with representatives of the health and environmental sector and with ecological and technological experts.
“We have worked on an explicit action plan so that we evidence our objectives related to the complying with the safety rules. The initiatives mentioned in the plan refer to occupational, health and working safety and to the providing of efficient conditions of working”, said Sajmsul Salim, Senior Vice President for environmental protection.
The plan has been discussed at an internal meeting where several recommendations were taken into consideration and extra feedback would accentuate the directions of the upcoming measures to implement. Related to the next coming steps, Sajmsul Salim, Senior Vice President for environmental protection added: “We consider it is necessary to put the plan into action as soon as possible while considering measures that specifically relate to preventing any disruption from the safety rules.”
Halmahera Resources’ plan involves an industrial safety verification and testing along with using a remote control and monitoring system at the company’s sites. An extra step consists in creating and offering efficient training to a committed working group focused on developing the conditions for efficient and productive work and identifying facilities meant to drive the system.
Halmahera Resources is paying special attention to the environmental condition of its` operating region and plans to introduce a systematic monitoring to identify the extra influential factors, like climatic variations, and to manage them accordingly. Other observation methods will be implemented as part of the geotechnical monitoring system.
