  • (1888PressRelease) June 04, 2009 - With the state of the current market and its uncertain future, it is more important than ever for graduates to submit high quality résumés and cover letters during their job search. They are "facing a highly competitive job market," says author Zelda Freud, adding that now is the time for recent grads to showcase their talents and "keep (their) antennas always active" in order to be receptive to any new information, intriguing ideas or suggestions. In her new book, MYWORKBOOK, Freud guides readers through the challenges and doubts of a job search, and offers tips and insights on how to succeed in - and survive - the first year on a job.

"Finding a job and settling into your first year in the workplace are definitive phases in the life of a twenty-something," says Freud. Written in an informal style, her new book, MYWORKBOOK focuses on two crucial phases in the life of a young adult: the transition from college to the workplace and the first year on the job.

"Combining these two periods will help a future young professional better understand the actual functioning of the workplace, thus he or she will be able to enter the corporate world well-prepared and more in control over his or her professional life."

Mixing theory and practice, MYWORKBOOK features a Q&A section, which covers topics that are particularly challenging for recent college graduates. In the interview section, five very different professionals - from a Gen Y'er to a baby boomer - share their insights and top do's and don'ts on how to best leverage a young adult's first working experience.
