Gold Continues to Offer the Best Return for Investors says Pan American Metals of Miami

  • (1888PressRelease) January 19, 2012 - MIAMI, FL - Gold experienced considerable volatility during the last quarter of 2011 and this caused some investors to be concerned about the possible future of the price of gold bullion market. There are, however, many factors underpinning gold that have not changed and will not change in the foreseeable future.

Buying of gold bullion by central banks has been increasing fairly dramatically; central banks of many emerging economies are stockpiling gold. Investment demand continues also, as inflation fears start to surface in light of continued monetary easing policies by many governments. Sovereign debt and the consequent devaluation of fiat currencies make gold the only viable safe alternative. Physical demand also remains strong, despite an increase in levies from India, the world's largest importer of gold. The only thing that could negatively impact the gold market at this stage would be high interest rates; however, the reverse is true at present with 'real' interest rates being in negative territory. Cash in the bank is actually losing money, as interest rates remain lower than the rate of inflation.

"Macroeconomic factors are all supportive of gold at present," says price of Bill Hionas, CEO of Pan American Metals of Miami. "It is extremely difficult to find cash investments that will return a rate higher than that of inflation. As people continue to lose faith in paper currency, price of gold and silver bullion represent the best alternative. The price of precious metals have an intrinsic value that cannot be debased; they are tangible, easily portable and readily traded all over the world."
