  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) April 19, 2013 - One of the United States' foremost economists-W. Michael Cox, PhD-will deliver the keynote address at the M&A Source 2013 Spring Conference and Middle Market Expo, June 10-13, 2013, at the Hilton Anaheim.

Cox will address how to make money in a bad economy by taking advantage of the historic transformation in national policy and economic performance. He also will discuss means to avoid the rising tax burden and how to outperform traditional investments with a wide array of alternatives.

"We are honored to have Dr. Cox address the M&A Source conference," says M&A Source Board of Director Chairman Kevin Dempsey. "He is a distinguished economist who understands why our clients-middle market business owners-represent American capitalism at its best. I believe M&A Source members will be uplifted by his optimistic belief in free markets and entrepreneurship."

Cox currently serves as director of the O'Neil Center for Global Markets and Freedom at Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business. The focus of the O'Neil Center is the study of the impact of competitive market forces on freedom and prosperity in the global economy. He also is president and CEO of W. Michael Cox and Associates, LLP, a Dallas-based private consulting group. Cox has served as a chief economist and senior vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.

Both print and broadcast media rely on Cox's ability to make sense of complex economic issues. He is a frequent guest on national radio, television and internet programs such as CNN, C-SPAN, Fox News, Voice of America, National Public Radio and Reason TV. Print publications that feature Cox's op ed articles include The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, Financial Times and Investor's Business Daily. His research is frequently designated as required reading for Congress.

Cox has comprehensively documented the progress in America's living standards and the mechanism that delivers it: free markets. He battles economic doomsayers in his Pulitzer Prize nominated book, "Myths of Rich and Poor."
