  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) January 17, 2010 - New York Film & Finance (NYCFF) announced today that their first event of the new season will be in support of the people of Haiti.

"We cannot stand by without trying to at least make some sort of impact. So, our upcoming NYCFF Film Mixer will be a Special Edition event. We're asking everyone to come out and support this effort to help the people of Haiti" said Daron Jenkins, chief executive officer of SCENEPR.

NYCFF Film Industry Mixer is a monthly after work event designed to help Entrepreneurs, attorneys, bankers, investment managers, entertainment lawyers, venture capitalists and above the line film professionals connect on film and television projects. This event allows executives & entrepreneurs with little or no investment experience to come and explore options for investment informally and builds roads toward business relations.

Coming off a highly successful inaugural launch in November 2009, NYCFF Film Industry Mixer is taking off again 2010. NYCFF Film Industry Mixer is supported by Analog Digital Intl., Film News Brief, and SCENEPR.

"The primary goal of the NYCFF Film Industry Mixer to provide a conduit for potential film investors to discover the next Paranormal Activity, the next great Reality TV Project, the nextů. That's what it's all about in the film industry, always looking for the next great project, You have got to do it in a somewhat safe environment though, obvious last year filmmakers were a little stressed trying to find money for film projects and film investors being more careful about where to spend. I think though there are a number of new players who will venture into the pool this year, but probably need a little help getting more information on the ins and outs of investing in film, and so we invite both experienced players and newbies, and of course above the line people from film. It's a great mix and always plenty of positive conversations that happen during the evening. " Jenkins said "In recent year, we have witnessed growing audience in the theaters as happens during times of recession in the country, which means the film industry is probably a safer investment than stock right now. Of course it still comes with risk, but I'd much rather put $200,000 on a great film project than in the market right now. And I think that I've personally seen some very, very good film projects come across my desk recently so good investment opportunities are definitely out there awaiting."

The next NYCFF Film Industry Mixer takes place in New York City on Wednesday, January 20 at GStaad 43 West 26th Street, New York, NY. This January event will be a special edition event, donating a portion of the proceeds to Wyclef Jean's Yele Foundation. ( "We each know someone whose life has been directly effected by this disaster. Let's make sure to show them we haven't forgotten them! We really hope people come out and show support, but more importantly take action whether it's by coming to our event or giving to the Red Cross or if in NYC, calling 311 to find out how they can help."

Entrepreneurs, attorneys, bankers, investment managers, entertainment lawyers, venture capitalists and above the line film industry professionals (producers, directors, casting directors, etc.) and general public who wish to attend should visit

Agencies or Film Productions who would like a customized, in-house presentation as part of this event should contact the NYCFF directly at 917-720-2141.
