  • Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) October 13, 2010 - The transformation of summer leaves into a brilliant autumn tableau is the perfect inspiration to perk up your spirit and your wardrobe, says Chef Tina Kumiega of the Victorian Tea Room, Parlor & Tea Shop, 130 Maple Street in downtown historic Wyandotte, Mich. - so informal modeling of classic fall fashions from Madelyn's will be on the menu along with delectable luncheon soups, sandwiches and a wide selection of teas Thursday, October 14.

Madelyn's, located at 3002 First Street, will be showcasing the newest trends for women of all sizes and styles and will share their "insider tips" on accessorizing them as diners enjoy lunch in a relaxing, old-world setting. "In Victorian times, tea rooms were 'the' place where women came to get their fashion news and see what would be en vogue during the upcoming social season," noted Chef Kumiega. "We wanted to give our patrons the same opportunity to see how outfits drape and move, and give them ideas on how to put them together to create their own personal looks."

To this end, Chef Kumiega and husband Michael, proprietors of the Victorian Tea Room, have invited fashion experts from local boutiques to present their signature styles from noon to 2 p.m. every Thursday in October during "Fall Fashion Thursdays" at the Victorian Tea Room. While classic fashions will be the mode on Thursday, Oct. 14, Country Enchantments, 2945 Biddle Avenue, will show their smart sportswear and accessories by Brighton the following Thursday, Oct. 21. Hip, fun fashions from Traffic Jam Boutique at 3019 Biddle Avenue will be modeled on Thursday, Oct. 28.
