  • Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) October 02, 2013 - Have you ever tried to create your own clinical simulation scenario? If your answer is "yes," you know that the process isn't easy. That's why on Wednesday, October 2 at 2:00 PM EDT, presenters Marjorie Miller and Colleen O'Leary-Kelley will introduce webinar participants to a simulation storyboard that allows writers to streamline and simplify the process of scenario development, and level scenarios to meet desired outcomes for learners.

Active members of the California Simulation Alliance Marjorie Miller, MA, RN, Cabrillo College School of Nursing, and Colleen O'Leary-Kelley, PhD, RN, CNE, San Jose State University School of Nursing, team with host Education Management Solutions (EMS) to invite participation in the free webinar "Scenario Development: It's More than Just Writing Up the Case."

While scenario development can be an especially detailed and laborious task, the two presenters will set guidelines to help viewers get off on the right foot as they create their own scenarios.

Since 2007, the California Simulation Alliance Scenario Development Project has been using a collaborative step-wise process to develop a library of more than 60 evidence-based, QSEN (Quality and Safety Education for Nurses) focused, validated, tested, and published simulation scenarios. These scenarios are accessible through membership in the California Simulation Alliance (CSA).

The presentation will describe the presenters' work and offer highlights from the popular full day scenario development workshop developed by the authors and offered by the CSA.

This webinar will guide viewers through the process of expanding a storyboard to a full scenario utilizing the case flow portion of the CSA scenario template. Healthcare professionals, educators, or those simply interested in simulation scenario development should make a point to attend this free event!
