  • (1888PressRelease) November 19, 2015 - The use of robots at the machines will substantially be expanded in the German machinery industry until 2018. For this growth the machine-builders will play the decisive role that already have experiences with robots. They will increase the number of their machines with robots by 46%. That means a dynamic growth of 13% per year. So these machine-builders will equip each fifth machine with robots. This prospect underlines the machine-builders' satisfaction with the use of robots.

The users of robots among the machine-builders are pursuing above average growth expectations regarding the production of their machines until 2018. Their expectations aim for a growth of machine production by yearly 6.5% while the average of all machine-builders is satisfied with a growth of 3.8% per year until 2018.

The machine-builders are organizing the engineering of the robot application in a much differentiated manner.

They are realizing the robot as hardware in five different configurations reaching from a complete in-house solution of the robot up to a complete purchased robot.

The engineering of the robot application, i.e. programming and adaptation to the application, is divided into seven groups ranging from in-house engineering of robot's in-house solution up to in-house and external engineering of mixed solutions.

And finally machine-builders are realizing four different types to link or even to integrate robotic control and machine control.

The market survey identifies and quantifies all these differentiations integrating them into the market segments that will determine the use of robots in the German machinery industry until 2018.

The Quest Trend Magazine has published a trend report about some results of this market survey on

Quest TechnoMarketing, the market research specialist and publisher of the Quest Trend Magazine, interviewed 36% of the machine-builders with 100 and more employees in the ten automation-relevant sectors during the first-half year 2015. This interview rate ensures representative, reliable results. The highlights of this study with over 120 pages, its table of contents and its budget are available on
