  • Fort Lauderdale, FL (1888PressRelease) July 01, 2010 - Coastal Community Church, a Christ-centered church located in Coconut Creek, Florida, is pleased to announce steady growth since its launch in September of 2009. The non-denominational church meets at Monarch High School on Sundays and appeals to young families, new churchgoers and those who have been disillusioned by past church experiences.

"There are lots of great churches in the area but we feel Coastal offers a new and unique approach to church," said TJ McCormick, lead pastor and founder of Coastal Community Church.

"We place a heavy emphasis on small groups and developing a strong relationship with God, which has been very well received by the people in our church thus far," he added.

Coastal provides scripturally-based teachings each week that are aimed at connecting people with God in a deeper and more intimate way. The church also offers creative outreach programs such as water giveaways and block parties that affect the surrounding community, which includes Coral Springs, Coconut Creek, Margate, Parkland, Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach.

With an emphasis on families, Coastal Community Church also has a solid children's ministry that serves kids from birth to junior high. The kids' ministry is currently in the middle of its "Summer of Fun" program, which includes activities and events such as bowling, a scavenger hunt, ice skating and a beach day.

At less than one year old, McCormick feels his church has already made a significant impact on the community and is resonating with many in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area.

"Numbers and growth are important, but shouldn't be the sole focus of a new church -- otherwise, you lose focus on what's most important, which is impacting lives for Christ," he noted. "We feel if we honor God in what we say and do, we will continue to experience sustained growth and be able to impact more and more lives in our community."

Coastal Community Church meets each Sunday at 10 a.m. at 5050 Wiles Road in Coconut Creek, Florida.
