  • Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS) was founded 26 years ago on the belief that every child is entitled to feel safe at home, in school and in the community. Today it is Long Island's leading non-profit resource on violence prevention and child safety.

    It has reached more than 600,000 children, grades K-12, through its cutting-edge, prevention-through-education programs that are made available to every student, without cost to Long Island private and public schools thanks to a large volunteer corps of professionally-trained presenters who facilitate programs in individual classrooms, and underwriting by benefactors.
