  • (1888PressRelease) October 28, 2010 - Logan, Utah, USA - Chem-Dry Malaysia, the nation's experts in carpet and upholstery cleaning, recently played host to the Chem-Dry's International Master Franchise Convention in the Kuala Lumpur City Center, Malaysia. With more than 50 attendees representing a variety of countries across the world, Master Franchises gathered to learn best practices for improving business performance in the heart of Malaysia's largest municipality.

"We were thrilled when selected to host this prestigious event," said Mr. Sinnathamby, who owns Chem-Dry Malaysia along with his wife Joan. "To play host to this elite group of business leaders is truly an honor. It was a pleasure to share our rich and varied traditions with business experts from across the globe."

The October event included a tight three-day schedule, packed with information about business building and performance - helping fellow Master Franchisors learn best practices from each other. The business meetings were hosted at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel near the Petronas Towers in downtown Kuala Lumpur.

In addition to strategic business discussions, the international visitors (many who were experiencing Malaysia for the first time), were treated to a variety of cultural feasts and activities including a tour of the Royal Selangor pewter factory, the Batu Caves, and cultural dancing and dining events.

"It is very special for our organization to gather as Master Franchises because they are the foundation for our success and an integral part of the Chem-Dry family," said Craig Donaldson, president of Harris Research, Inc., the international franchisor for Chem-Dry. "The entire group enjoyed the wonderful hospitality not only of Mr. Sinnathamby and his staff, but also the friendly and welcoming manner of the Malaysian people overall."

With guests from such countries as Mexico, South Africa, Kuwait, Ireland, Nethrerlands, and others, this event moves locations. The 2009 meeting was held in Logan, Utah at Devere International headquarters. The 2008 meeting was hosted in Dublin, Ireland.

Chem-Dry was recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as the top carpet cleaning franchise and made the top 10 list in both the best low-cost and home-based franchise categories.

Chem-Dry is the world's largest carpet and upholstery cleaning company with more than 4,000 franchises in 45 countries, cleaning more than a billion square feet of carpet every year using the company's proprietary quick-drying system. In Malaysia, there are five independently owned and operated franchisees throughout the nation, providing carpet cleaning, tile cleaning and upholstery cleaning services to area residents.

"I was most impressed with the way our international group was hosted," said Jotham Hatch, director of training for Chem-Dry's corporate headquarters in Logan, Utah, USA. "Additionally, the Chem-Dry Malaysia staff showed first-rate expertise and knowledge in the business and technical skills to deliver top-level customer service and in-depth cleaning abilities for their customers. Having worked with franchises across the globe, these local operators demonstrated superior carpet cleaning skills. It was a pleasure to spend time with them."

Chem-Dry uses state-of-the-art equipment, non-toxic environmentally safe supplies and well-trained service technicians. It also provides one of the most comprehensive business protection plans in the carpet cleaning industry today.
