California Hand Rolls Not Just a Figure Skating Move at MegaIce

MegaIce, Hong Kong's only international sized ice rink, recently launched a Japanese-style lunch and skating package which has brought hundreds of skaters through the doors this April. The package offers both a discount on skating and a free lunch, compared to other ice skating session prices.. End Quote

(1888PressRelease) April 30, 2009 - Hundreds of skaters have come through MegaIce's doors this month for a lunch and skating package offering amazing value.

The package offers 2 hours of skating, as well as a Japanese style lunch with a choice of four different dishes, for only HK$50.

Keith Fong, MegaIce Deputy General Manager, has seen "quite a lunch time rush" in the weeks since the package has been publicized. "The cost for a skating session alone is $60 or more at most ice rinks. We're effectively giving skaters a free lunch, as well as a 15% discount on their skating session, plus they get to use Hong Kong's only international sized ice rink www.megaice.com.hk".

The lunch menu offers your choice of the following:
• 2pcs Salmon Sushi, 2pcs Tamago Sushi and 1pc California Hand Roll
• Chicken or Beef Curry with Rice
• Beef or Pork Ramen
• Wild Mushroom Udon Noodles
A soft drink is included.

MegaIce has also decided to standardize the timing of meal delivery, to allow skaters to maximize their ice time. Meals are delivered a standard half-hour after ordering. Keith Fong, MegaIce's Deputy general manager, said that "The standardized wait time for meals will mean that people feel more comfortable to get out on the ice, without constantly watching their table and checking for their meal".

Patrons can order their meal at half-hour intervals starting at 12 noon and finishing at 1.30pm.

The package is available from Monday to Friday, and meals can be ordered through a form available from the MegaIce cashier.
