  • (1888PressRelease) March 06, 2009 - Princeton, NJ -- The ability of businesses to survive in today's market depends on their ability to do more with less. Business Training Resource announced today that the webinar, "Harness the Power of Webmeetings: How to save time and increase profits running webinars, webmeetings and webcasts" is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18 @ 11:00 am eastern. The webinar is designed to show individuals and small business owners how they can use this popular, inexpensive and highly effective communication tool to avoid travel costs and increase their opportunities with customers. After the webinar, participants will be able to actually do more with less.

While working with clients and customers, Ed Andriessen, principal at Business Training Resource, noticed that he was using web based meetings more frequently and in a variety of different ways. During these meetings, his clients often commented about how easy it was to collaborate and asked how they could also conduct web conferences.

After providing his many clients with the basics in web conference and webinar delivery, Ed realized that there were many companies that have not embraced this technology for a variety of reasons yet.

"The biggest obstacle to conducting web meetings is the perception that the technology is too complicated," Ed said in a recent interview. "This had some basis in truth in the past because of slower internet connections and more complicated web conferencing applications, however, many of those challenges are no longer an issue. Most businesses have high speed internet connections and the web conferencing technology is much easier to use and more manageable than even two years ago."

Ed noted that the growing interest in web meetings is because of two obvious benefits, time savings and cost savings.

"Figuring travel and waiting time, I compared the time savings between a typical client meeting and a web meeting is approximately 2 1/2 hours. In addition, calculating the travel and hourly employee cost, that translates to a savings of $135.00 ($125.00 for employee time and $10.00 travel). That's twice the cost of a monthly subscription to a reliable web conferencing service, just for one meeting! Multiply those savings by the number of potential client or sales presentations per month and you're saving some big numbers."

Ed also determined the time savings may be more important to some than the cost savings, "the time savings allows you to see more people more frequently without a lot of complicated scheduling. Just send an e-mail with a link and you're meeting."

"I designed the "Harness the Power of Webmeetings" webinars for people who have not yet conducted their own web meetings, but who have attended them and want to add them to their tool box of communication channels. The webinar is actually for individuals and small business owners who are 'newbies' to web meeting technology. The webinar will show them easy and simple steps to planning, preparing and practicing so they are comfortable and effective with the web meeting or web conferencing service."

The first webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18 @ 11:00 am eastern and you can register at http://harnesswebmeetings.eventbrite.com/.
