  • (1888PressRelease) July 23, 2008 - Brian Wrigley is an ActionCOACH based in Northamptonshire, England and recently won a prestigious ProfitCLUB Coach Award during ActionCOACH’s annual UK, European and African conference, held recently in London.

A keen amateur sport coach, Brian was delighted to take the opportunity to coach in the business field with ActionCOACH. Before joining ActionCOACH, Brian had a rich and varied 20-year career. He has gained experience in a broad range of industries, including IT, project management, insurance, retail and manufacturing.

He joined ActionCOACH in April 2005 and saw his new role as a way of combining his love of coaching with his skill in business.

“I saw an opportunity to help businesses grow through practical advice and strategies,” he says. “I have always enjoyed coaching and this seemed perfect for me.”

Most of Brian’s clients come from Northamptonshire and are active in many different areas of business, from cleaning companies to marquee hire. He says that the most common problem they face is a lack of focus.

“People often lack a sense of direction,” he says. “But I help my clients to discover their goals and what drives them, enabling them to move forward in a positive manner. I believe that being in business should be fun!”

Brian has big plans for the future. As well as his role with ActionCOACH, in five years he sees himself as being a shareholder in at least five businesses and taking an active part in their growth. He also intends to spend plenty of time with his family and indulge his passions for golf and travel.

Brian’s professional life is a full one but he believes that there has to be a good balance between business and quality family time.

“The most important thing in my life is my family,” he says. “They are my driving force. Particularly my oldest daughter Darcy, who has been diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome and has severe limitations, yet nobody really told her, and she has an amazing ability to bring out the best in people and light up a room. My other two kids, Lily and Taylor, have their own unique qualities and are very bright, stubborn little people. My wife Kathryn is also an inspiration, because she has overcome so many challenges; she has ME and is partially deaf, and yet manages our home with military precision; she has supported the family and myself through thick and thin and given me the freedom to succeed.”

Brian is also a huge sport fan and follows Liverpool FC, St Helens in rugby league, and the Miami Dolphins American football team. He believes that sport has taught him to understand the value of coaching and he has emulated some of his early football and rugby coaching heroes in his own role as a successful ActionCOACH.

Brian’s philosophy is that all the ups and down of the business world are actually good events, no matter what the outcome.

“It is what we learn from these things, and what we do as a result, that really counts,” he says.
