  • Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) April 25, 2012 - Dr. Ian Wahl, who is the founder and primary practitioner at Wahls of Wellness, is focused on helping others find relief from stress. He knows that we can't completely rid our lives of stress, which can have debilitating effects, but he does understand that there are ways to lessen and manage it. He's been helping people do just that for years.

"There are a range of things that an individual may do to help lessen the stress in their lives," said Wahl. "These include meditation and exercise and simply breathing properly. Deep breathing exercises that focus on the diaphragm can be very helpful. Taking 10 to 15 minutes out of your day to do this will go a long way towards lessening tension. Also," said the doctor, "working with a trained therapist and surrounding yourself with friends and family can greatly benefit someone in their attempt to lessen stress in their lives."

There's also a range of natural, holistic treatments and techniques that can help reduce stress. These include acupressure, acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicines. Each of these approaches may be used to strengthen the immune system, promote healing and help our bodies regenerate energy and relax.

"What we work towards," said Wahl, "is a reduction of symptoms that are associated with stress. Stress may stimulate irritability, frustration and depression. It can lead to an irregular menstrual cycle, premenstrual symptoms, moodiness, breast distension and bloating. Plus, anxiety, migraines and chest constriction are all associated with stress. Gastrointestinal disorders, poor concentration and Irritable Bowel Syndrome are all part of stress."

Stress can ultimately compromise one's health in a major manner. Thus, it's important to address it as soon as possible. If left unchecked, it can lead to more serious conditions, including high blood pressure, heart problems and debilitating fatigue. Some basic lifestyle changes and the use of a few natural treatments can address all of these issues.

As well as being the founder and director of the Wahls of Wellness, he also created the Midwest Allergy Relief Center and is the founder and director of the Natural Fertility Health Centers, which specialize in women's and men's health, fertility and reproductive wellness. Dr. Wahl graduated from Washington University in 1972 and, after graduate school, became a practicing psychotherapist. He holds a degree as a Doctor of Acupuncture (RI) and also has a Diplomate in Acupuncture (NCCAOM). Dr. Wahl is National Board Certified and licensed to practice in Illinois, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Rhode Island. He continues to develop integrated therapies that embrace natural remedies and a holistic approach.
