Berry at Toronto based music, film & television company AMG has been named a juror for the international competition at the 2020 Global Short Film Awards Festival this May, which will decide on the awards for best short films and other categories, organizers said Friday.

    The decision was made by the board of directors chaired by GSFA's Andres Aquino, based on the recommendation of fellow jurors and directors. In accepting the proposal, Berry said: "Every year I look expectantly to the selection at Cannes Global Short Film Awards and every year it is surprising and distinct. GSFA is one of the most atmospheric short form film festivals in the world — a celebration of the provocative and inspirational medium that is short film cinema in all its forms. It is a privilege and a pleasure to be asked back as a GSFA juror being held at this years 73rd Cannes International Film Festival."

    Said GSFA's Chairman Aquino: “Mark Berry is not just a media executive of contemporary cinema, but is a sought after source for his 40+ years in the music, film & television business. His commitment in the artistic and to the protection of the international film industry, still coming to terms with new delivery and streaming methods, have made him an inspiration for our industry as a whole."

    The 2020 73rd Cannes Film Festival Awards will this year take place Tuesday, May 12, 2020 – Saturday, May 23, 2020 with the Global Short Film Awards at the InterContinental Carlton Hotel Cannes on Friday, May 22, 2020 – Saturday, May 23, 2020.
