Brown, MD, co-author of the new book How to Use Herbs, Nutrients, and Yoga in Mental Health Care (WW Norton, January 2009), and internationally renowned pioneer of CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine), will be interviewed by radio host Rob Kingsbury, Thursday, March 26, 2009, at 2 pm CT, live on Union Broadcasting’s radio station KCTE 1510-AM from Kansas, as well as live on the Internet at 1510.com. Dr. Brown will discuss his book, the benefits of breath, body, and mind practices for mental health during times of stress and economic hardship, and a myriad of other mental health subjects.

    Dr. Brown is Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University in New York. He is a certified teacher of Aikido (4th Dan), Yoga, Qi Gong, and meditation. Dr. Brown developed a neurophysiological theory on the effects of yoga breath on the mind and body, particularly its benefits for stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

    Dr. Brown is an expert on holistic approaches to psychiatry, including the use of supplements such as SAM-e and Rhodiola Rosea and mind-body practices. He co-authored The Rhodiola Revolution and Stop Depression Now. Dr. Brown maintains a practice in New York City.

    Rob Kingsbury has hosted Total Health Radio for 9 years at KCTE 1510 AM. Kingsbury, also known as “Coach K”, holds a PhD in Physical Education and has been a health and fitness consultant for the Dallas Cowboys, USA Swimming, and various universities.
