  • (1888PressRelease) September 15, 2009 - Results for the financial year 2008/09 saw the huge rise in work related claims and which has underpinned the companies’ rapid growth.

An increased public awareness through TV advertisements and radio broadcasts has been mooted as the key factor behind the growth along with the market dominance the company currently shares Accidents Directs’ Director, Rebecca Young explained: “We have seen a massive increase in work related claims, due to a number of factors. Clients have become more privy to their rights when bringing a claim forward.

Many people in the past may have been put off the idea of bringing a claim against their employer but were not in possession of the full facts so did not realize that every employer must have an insurance policy in place to cover such accidents and that it would not directly affect their company. A number of clients also worry about any potential ramifications, whether that be a change in attitude from their colleagues or bosses, I think once our trained executives have guided them through the process, the clients are in no doubt they are in an excellent position to bring a claim forward – Hence the 12% increase”
Reports claim that the total number of work enquiries split between the total enquiries in 2009 was up from 473 to 629 on the previous year and after taking into account company growth were able to report a 12% growth. With this continuing trend, Accidents Direct are hopeful they will see similar results the following year.

Claims executive : “Work related claims are one of the simplest to bring forward. The fact that negligence is often a lot easier to prove than in a trip/slip type case for example means our clients are often more encouraged to bring a claim forward. Work accidents are usually logged in an accident book so we almost always have proof of the accident.

I think one of the biggest concerns in the past was that clients may become alienated or treated differently at work if they brought a claim but owning to the economic crisis, where people have perhaps lost there jobs and may find themselves in a difficult financial position, claiming for what they rightly deserve has become a more attractive option.”
