  • Cincinnati, OH-KY-IN (1888PressRelease) March 08, 2014 - A+ Tutoring/Test Preparation is pleased to announce its new partnership with Cincinnati's OnTrakToCollege.org, a college advising service, to offer free college prep seminars in the Cincinnati area that also encourage giving to local food pantries. The program, entitled "Cans for College" allows select churches in the Mason, Loveland, and Cincinnati area to host the college entrance seminars in exchange that each attendee either bring two cans of food or two dollars to donate to a local food pantry.

A large seminar has been planned for the fall at Crossroads Church in Oakley, which has the greatest number of attendees than any single church in Ohio. The event will be hosted at that location, though if interest is great enough, the test prep and college planning session may be broadcast to its other locations.

Mr DiSalvo, owner of A+ and a tutor who has helped several of his students into the 99th percentile on the PSAT, SAT, and ACT, was quoted as saying, "Several food pantries are really hurting as many don't believe donations are in their budgets, though more people are on assistance than ever before. By highlighting the essential steps that have helped students into Ivy League schools or receiving prestigious scholarships, we are able not only to indirectly help local food pantries, but also give a wide range of students the opportunity to get valuable test preparation information normally beyond their reach. There is no doubt it is crucial information." On Trak to College will be adding its own valuable perspective on the college entrance process by highlighting techniques to help fund the educations of several types of students.

Unique plans will be shown high schoolers concerning how to make sure the college they attend is truly good fit rather than a sure path to heavy debt. "It's important that students start thinking beyond a brand name when it comes to college. The choices a student makes to leave the state or choose a school for a major that may be not be practical can damper career plans and cause a lot of frustration that could have been avoided by asking some important questions", said a representative of OTFC. The lessons by Mr DiSalvo and On Trak will last about one hour to allow for followup questions.
