  • (1888PressRelease) October 10, 2014 - Plymouth, NE - What Is This On My Plate? is a rhyming story about Ortis the tortoise who invites his best friend Rocky the rabbit to join him for a much anticipated meal at a fabulous restaurant. It is there where Ortis finds something quite unexpected on his plate of food.

As with Bright's first book, larger vocabulary is purposely, strategically used to develop and expand the minds of young readers, with action and surprise woven throughout.

Tate Publishing Acquisition Director Stacy Baker shared her enthusiasm for Bright's latest book, stating "Children will beg to have this story read at bedtime, in the classroom, and anywhere you find boys and girls with books! This is one of the few books that I would consider a true crossover book, both for boys and girls. Wait until you hear the reaction when the surprise comes in the story. The squeals will be deafening!"

While sharing that "determination, surprise and resolve" are the three words that best encompass his main character, Bright aims for a mirrored reaction in young readers. "I am hopeful they will experience laughter, surprise and a hunger to hear it again," said Bright. "More importantly however, I hope that by hearing and reading this book, they will develop not only a deepening hunger for reading, but also an advanced use of the English language."

Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book will be available upon its release through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.

When asked about his journey to becoming an author, Bright shared "As long as I can remember I have always had a unique imagination and ability to create pictures in my mind. While growing up I have always attempted to make others laugh, and have come up with some real off the wall comments or stories to accomplish this. As the years have passed I always had wished I had done something with my creativity, so I decided it was time to do something about it. So I got serious and began writing children's picture storybooks."

Bright is married to his wonderful wife Cindy and together they have two married children and one very energetic and imaginative granddaughter. He enjoys meeting people, public speaking, writing stories, woodworking and golf.
