XSProject was established in 2002 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The foundation has been actively involved in community building programs in Indonesia, and educated school children on environmental and social issues. XSProject collaborates with Yayasan Kampung Kids, an Indonesian NGO, to train Jakarta housewives and provide new earning opportunities for their families. It also cooperates with several schools, assisting with campaigning on the 4R program: Re-use, Recycle, Reduce and Refuse.
The trash XSProject re-uses does not come from landfills, it is bought from the trash pickers who collect trash from housing areas. The foundation re-uses waste instead of recycling it, which consumes less energy and resources. The Foundation employs about 50 people, for trash collection, and the design and manufacture of the products. The XSProject range of eco-friendly products is currently available in Europe, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, and USA. |
