July 11, 2009 - On Saturday, July 18th 2009, has people from all countries the chance to compete for the cup for the best marbles player in the world. The tournament will start at 11 o'clock in Prague, Czech Republic. The championship will start by matches in groups and continue by double elimination system in the afternoon.
"People from all countries are welcome to come to Prague and participate in the world marbles championship," says Petr Sejba, president of the Czech Marbles Federation. "Marbles are played all over the world and we believe that for many people is this sport so interesting that they will attend the tournament and maybe also organise marbles tournaments in their countries."
The first world marbles championship took place at 2005. Most of the participants come from the Czech Republic but people from many other countries participated in past international tournaments. In these days, members of the Czech Marbles Federation are trying to popularize marbles sport in the world and inicialize establishing of the World Marbles Federation.
