June 08, 2009 - United States - With whole globe slowly rising to the concept of eco-friendly ways and its prospective long term benefits, the upcoming World Expo Shanghai 2010 has decided to go green too! It would urge the visitors to follow the guidelines issued by the organizing committee to keep the environment clean and free from any hap hazards.
In a conference held jus a day before the world’s environment day i.e. 5th June, the organizers of the World Expo Shanghai 2010 presented guidelines drawn according to the United Nations Environment Program.
It includes the appeal to the tourists visiting the event to travel by public transportation, sorting their rubbish and putting them in relevant trash cans, bringing their own tableware & eco-friendly bags, use of less water and minimizing pollution.In fact, the dutiful visitors who follow the guidelines will be rewarded by the organizers as said by Dai Jianmin, director of the operation department of the World Expo Shanghai 2010 coordination.
There were also talks of collaboration with a carbon exchange website that will provide visitors with carbon credits in exchange of any release of carbon dioxide set by them.World Expo Shanghai 2010 will take place near Nanpu-Lupu Bridge over the River Huangpo in Shanghai from May 12 to October 31 2010 which is also the Halloween day.
