September 20, 2007 - Bradford & Bingley has found that over three quarters of the 1,000 women surveyed who were involved in the property industry also held down day jobs in addition to their property portfolios.
But while 42 per cent added that they have also taken on much of the renovation work themselves, 48 per cent complain that tradespeople charge them more for goods and services as they are women.

Fiona Fullerton, who owns several investment properties to the value of over £2million, explained: "Women are taking control by buying and renovating properties and are being hugely successful at it.
"Many women have a strong business sense and when combined with an innate ability to multitask and a key eye for design, it can often create a winning formula."
A third of the women in property investment are under 30, or bought their first investment property under 30.
