August 22, 2007 - WPFG Studios and the Wolfpack Film Group are gearing up to shoot their first feature film only a year after the group's formation. Wolfpack founder and multi-award-winning producer Robin Blesch is producing the film with fellow award-winning producer/director William Blesch. This husband and wife independent production team have teamed up with Michael Morlan, a talented Director of Photography and the owner of Austin Film Tools, and many other Wolfpack members to work with emerging writer/director H.R. McDonald as he also marks his feature film debut with “Anything for Now”(ATFN).
The Austin-based artist collective is comprised of professional and semi-pro independent filmmakers and artists with the skills, talents, and combined knowledge and resources to take on almost any project large or small. Very recently several Wolfpack members collaborated on a series of 32 Match.com ads, which can be seen playing on Myspace.com and other popular websites worldwide. Although “Anything for Now” will be their first collaboratively created feature film, the rapidly developing group has worked together on all kinds of projects over the last year including music videos, short films, concept trailers, corporate ad work, and other feature films.
With the funding for “Anything for Now” recently secured, the Blesch’s and other members of the Wolfpack are already hard at work securing shooting locations, scheduling, and rounding out the cast and crew to prepare for the beginning of principal photography, scheduled for early November 2007. Already, the script has attracted the interest of a growing name in the industry, DJ Perry, an actor who recently starred in films such as “An Ordinary Killer” and “Judges” that gained distribution through Anthem Pictures International. The producers are also proud to announce that CSA casting director Barbara Brinkley from Dallas, Texas, who has done casting with many of the major studios on films like, “Suspect Zero,” “Home Fries,” and “Varsity Blues,” has just joined the project and is leading the producers and director on their quest for the perfect lead actor and possibly some more name talent.
"Anything for Now," is a modern day drama, and the coming of age story of Cory, a college film student attempting to cope with his depression by making a documentary film about a conspiracy theorist who believes the world is about to descend into catastrophe. Cory’s naïve, mysterious nature attracts the attention of Kim, a quirky, loner drama student. Her presence in his life leads to a series of events that causes Cory to confront the issues that seem to be the source of his depression.
Here’s a sneak peak of what to expect from this independent film…
“We’ll be shooting underwater, on ice, in rush hour traffic, in various commercial spaces including a mall, off a cliff, and much much more that I cannot disclose at this time, but what I can say is that the film will be moody with some awesome imagery and a very high production value for the money.”

"By the Second or third read through, I was just mesmerized by the script. I loved its structure, and its message just resonates." ~ Barbara Brinkley of Barbara Brinkley Casting in Dallas, TX
The film will be shot in high definition with 35mm lenses to give the finished product a look and feel that’s very close to film. The HD/35mm lens combo has recently become very popular in the world of independent film for this very reason, leading to the demand for the Red One, the newest camera on the market which is supposed to revolutionize the world of indie filmmaking by making it possible to mount 35mm lenses directly on the camera. Many filmmakers, including Wolfpack Director of Photography Michael Morlan, are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their Red One’s. Although Morlan is scheduled to receive his Red One sometime during the month of November, it will most likely not be used on this feature film. However, all other equipment for the film will be provided by Michael Morlan and Austin Film Tools.
“Anything for Now” will hopefully mark the first of many feature films to be produced by the Wolfpack Film Group in the Austin area. The Goal of the Group is not just to bring more films to Austin, but to work together to increase the number of high quality independent films that are produced by local filmmakers. By working together with a common goal in mind, and helping each other achieve their collective goals, the Wolfpack Film Group hopes to help gain more recognition for the Austin film community and independent filmmakers as a whole. One of the largest obstacles in the world of independent filmmaking is the quest for funding, and the Wolfpack feels that by working together these obstacles can be overcome more easily.
“Though there is a since of satisfaction knowing that we are producing our first feature film, the exciting part is knowing that “Anything for Now” is only the beginning.” ~ Producer Robin Blesch
