July 01, 2008 - Agile software development (ASD) is creating a buzzword in Software Development Community. It is a creative frameowrk that anticipates the need for flexibility and applies a level of pragmatism into the delivery of the finished product. In the process, the software is developed in smaller units. With chapters in all major IT cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi and Chandigarh, Agile Software Community of India is spreading awareness about the subject through sessions on its various aspects. To keep the Indian IT industry abreast of new developments in ASD, ASCI conducts these sessions free of cost. The Agile NCR Conference, Gurgaon; and Introductory Workshop on Agile, Chandigarh are amongst the two notable events conducted in North India by ASCI to promote effective usage of ASD. Following the success of the first Agile event, the Chandigarh Chapter of ASCI is conducting another event sponsored by Quark on July 2, 2008 from 2:30 PM onwards.
Around 25 IT professionals from the city would be attending the event. The event would have two key note addresses on Distributed Development and Agile, and Introduction to Lean Thinking. ASCI has also partnered with WiZiQ.com to broadcast the event LIVE on the web.
This is the first such initiative of its kind. The Live Event schedule is as follows:
• The first session is by Mayank Gupta. Mayank would discuss some of his approaches regarding Distributed Development and Agile. Mayank's rich experience in working with distributed teams and GlobalLogic, a company known for Agile Innovation, would provide insight in this topic.
• The second session is by Vikrama Dhiman. Vikrama is a Certified Scrum Master and would provide a basic introduction to Lean Thinking. WiZiQ website has more details about the Public Session of Lean Thinking.
