April 03, 2007 - Cellox, LLC, located in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, a manufacturer of Insulating Concrete Forms (ICFs) called Celblox®, has introduced a program designed to aid in the rebuilding of churches destroyed in the recent outbreak of deadly tornadoes in the southeast. Cellox, LLC intends to provide its Celblox® to churches at below their manufacturing cost. The offer is the brainchild of David Pace, CEO of Cellox, LLC.
“Originally our Church Development Program was created to assist churches that are intending to expand or build new facilities by providing Celblox® ICF technology at a much reduced cost,” said Pace. “But when we heard of the overwhelming devastation of churches in the southeast, we felt compelled to reach out to them foremost, knowing the superior strength and safety factor Celblox® ICF walls can provide in tornado-prone areas.”
Celblox® are used in building insulated concrete exterior walls for both above and below grade applications. The outer walls of Celblox® ICFs are made from flame-retardant expanded polystyrene (EPS) which is nontoxic.
The inside of the walls are solid concrete which is not only non-flammable but can even act as a flame barrier providing protection against outside fires. Most notably:
•Celblox® structures have a four hour fire barrier rating
•Celblox® structures can withstand tornado and hurricane force winds up to 250 mph
•Celblox® structures are proven to reduce energy costs for heating and air conditioning by up to 50%
Project Manager for Cellox’s Church Development Program, (Rev.) Ed Herman, has recently provided information to nearly 300 churches in the hardest hit areas of Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Moreover, the churches contacted have been invited to extend the offer to any church members who have suffered the loss of their homes as well.
Cellox, LLC technical staff members are available to assist local designers and contractors in cost estimating and designing of the building as well as providing training when it comes time to build.
