December 13, 2008 - SANTA ANA, CALIF. – New windors for their world: olive crest homes and services for abused children receives generous donation of 88 energy-efficient windows for its coachella valley children’s center.
Olive Crest Homes and Services for Abused Children announced today that WinDor, Inc. of Anaheim has generously donated the 88 windows needed for the four residential homes in Olive Crest’s Coachella Valley Children’s Center, currently under construction.
The dual-pane WinDor windows are of the highest quality vinyl and Low-E glass material and are valued at more than $56,000. The Center, the only one of its kind in the Desert Empire, will serve abused and at-risk teens from the local area.
“Operated business that takes great pride in its own craft, we felt compelled to contribute something to the Center from our hearts as well as our pocketbooks. May our windows let the sun shine through every day on these children.”
The Coachella Valley Children’s Center is a five-acre plot of land that will ultimately include four residential homes, a Community Education Center (including administrative offices), a gymnasium, and swimming pool. The four residential homes, which can house up to six foster children each, along with their foster parents, are expected to open in January of 2009. The second phase of construction—including the Education Center, gym and swimming pool—is expected to be completed in 2010.
“WinDor is well-known in the industry for the tremendous quality of their products, so this is truly a magnificent addition to this project,” said Rudy Herrera, Principal, Family Development, which serves as Builder Captain on the project. “And their contribution doesn’t end today; thanks to the energy-saving features of their windows, Olive Crest will be saving on their heat and air-conditioning bills for years to come. That’s a real gift, especially in California.”
“We want the teens living in these homes to have the same level of comfort and security that we all have in our own homes,” said Donald Verleur, CEO of Olive Crest. “And we’re very grateful to WinDor for helping make our goal a reality once again.”
