The group works to promote window fashions as a critical element of interior design and a powerful multi-faceted profession, and enriches members’ careers by promoting the value of certification through education, knowledge and experiences.
PitchRate.com (http://www.PitchRate.com) is a free online service connecting experts with journalists from magazines, newspapers, radio, TV and online sources. Since its launch in February, PitchRate.com has grown to a network of over 16,000 experts in an amazingly diverse array of topics and the journalists who cover them.
“Now journalists who sign up for PitchRate.com will give their readers and viewers access to exciting new information from WFPC professionals,” says Drew Gerber, CEO of Blue Kangaroo, Inc. and creator of PitchRate.com.
The system is simple: Journalists send out queries on the topics they cover. PitchRate.com forwards these to its database of WFPC members and other experts. Responses are sent directly to the inboxes of media professionals. Journalists remain anonymous and contact only the sources they choose. PitchRate.com rates responding sources, so reporters, writers and producers can be sure they are getting the most qualified experts.
The partnership follows one announced in August between PitchRate.com and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), a professional networking and educational group with more than 13,000 members worldwide. Working with PitchRate.com will allow WFCP and IIDA to publicize their commitment to excellence in design and career development for professional designers.
The Window Fashions Certified Professionals program is the premier industry certification program for window fashion professionals. The vision of WFCP is to act as the liaison between all professionals in the window treatment industry. The WFCP program is hosted by Grace McNamara Inc., which also publishes the leading industry magazine Window Fashion Vision and hosts the industry’s premier trade show—Vision10: International Window Coverings Expo.
