July 21, 2007 - Westgate Christian Academy in St. Peters is in the process of enrolling elementary and middle school students for the 2007-2008 school year. Current openings available are as follows:
. Second grade - 4 seats open
. Third grade - 8 seats open
. Fourth grade - 1 seat open
. Sixth grade – 6 seats open
. Seventh grade – 2 seats open
. Eighth grade – 6 seats open
According to Westgate Christian Academy Principal Peggy Barratt, the school’s curriculum and related activities revolve around raising student achievement, providing a safe and enriching learning environment, and maintaining an efficient and effective operation. Annual tuition is affordable at just over $4,000 per year.
“Our mission at Westgate Christian Academy ensures we are focused on the highest quality standards in accordance with the latest research and successful professional practices,” she said. “Our curriculum encourages children to think and solve problems. We provide our students with a solid foundation so they are able to compete academically with students from any school,” she said.
Barratt indicated Westgate is a Christian school where God’s Word is taught daily. “Teachers and staff members have professed their faith in Christ and seek to follow Him in all they do,” she added. “This is evident in their interactions with students, parents and other staff members. At Westgate, we want Christianity to be caught as much as taught.”
