May 06, 2008 - The 2008 BMW M3 Coupe is available in a single, powerful 414-hp, 4.0-liter, V-8 engine, which can race to 100 km/hr in 4.8 seconds. It comes with a choice of six-speed manual with overdrive and seven-speed auto-shift manual with overdrive and auto-manual.
This is the fourth-generation M3’s first V-8, four-door combination since 2000. Earlier versions of the M3 Coupe were run on an Inline six-cylinder. It gains 80 horses, while shedding 33 lbs of body weight from the previous production year.
The M3 has now got a distinct look; the only common items from the earlier year model are the doors, trunklid, fuel cap and chassis. A notable innovation is the carbon fiber roof, which, while reducing the vehicle’s weight, lowers its center of gravity, to offer it a more balanced ride. With flared fenders for wider wheels and tires, the M3 Coupe brings in more cooling. The available wheelbases are 18 and 19 inches. Four-wheel disc brakes, antilock brakes, Dynamic Stability Control, and six standard airbags with side-impact and side curtain airbags are some of the safety features of the M3.
The innovative MDrive from BMW’s engineering allows the driver a variety of combinations on the suspension and engine preferences. This feature controls the car’s vital aspects such as steering and throttle response, ride comfort and the electronic stability system.
