April 30, 2008 - On May 3, 2008 those attending Podcamp San Antonio Numero Dos will be learning, sharing and practicing low cost ways to effectively promote themselves and their businesses or non-profits online.
So what's a Podcamp? A Podcamp is a community developed and run "unconference" with the emphasis on new media like blogging, podcasting, Twitter, and more. Started in Boston in September 2006 since then podcamps have been held world wide. The first Texas Podcamp was held in San Antonio last year with participants from education, non-profits, corporations of all sizes, social activists, and individuals.
The online world has changed from stay the same always websites to dynamic and updated sites like Facebook, blogging, MySpace, Eons, Twitter and podcasting. All ages are using those sites to stay informed.
Using social media techniques to engage and talk with prospects and customers meets today's desire for connection and relevant timely information. By participating in social media a business owner or non-profit director can hear the issues and concerns of his/her market.
