WCPO-TV Channel 9 News Segment Focuses On Cincinnati-Based Home Staging Company. Stage A Star Helps Area Residents Sell Homes In A Challenging Market

WCPO-TV Channel 9 News, An ABC affiliate for the Cincinnati area, aired a segment about the local home staging industry during its 5:30 p.m. news program on Friday, February 8, 2008. Featured in this segment is Cincinnati-based home staging company, Stage A Star. Reporter Tom McKee interviewed Teresa Meyer, the founder of Stage A Star; Lori Bornstein, the homeowner.

Cincinnati, OH-KY-IN (1888PressRelease) February 12, 2008 - In the segment, Bornstein said that her Maineville home has been on the market since last October, Bornstein hired Stage A Star, a Cincinnati based home-staging company run by Teresa Meyer to professionally stage the home to make the house stand out from the competition. "They need to get rid of the clutter. They need to depersonalize," she said. "You want buyers to feel that it's their house – that they don't feel like a guest." In Bornstein's case, Meyer and Rebecca Saunders, also of Stage A Star, rearranged the furniture in some rooms, added it in others – and strategically placed accessories to highlight the home's features. "It looks great," said Bornstein. "Very warm, Very inviting." Bornstein gazed at the changes and said, "I think it looks great. It looks like a model home." "It's definitely less expensive than reducing the price of my house," Bornstein said. "It's an investment." McKee also talked with Karen Schlosser, president of the Cincinnati Board of Realtors, who explained that “staging” is a necessity in today’s market.

Meyer—an Accredited Staging Professional, founded Stage A Star in 2005, and has since worked with more than 400 homeowners throughout the Cincinnati metropolitan area. Rebecca Saunders, a staging assistant with Stage A Star was also featured in the news program.

Meyer and Stage A Star have been featured in numerous media, including The Cincinnati Enquirer, various articles in Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky HOME IMPROVEMENT magazine and published articles with EZINE. Stage A Star is an “A” rated member of Angie’s List, a consumer-driven organization that collects customer satisfaction ratings on local service companies in more than 250 categories. More than 600,000 members across 124 cities use Angie’s List.
