March 06, 2007 - CHARLESTON, SC---Water Missions International (WMI), a Charleston-based nonprofit Christian engineering organization, has experienced a phenomenal growth in opportunities for providing clean water to developing countries and disaster areas since the tsunami and Hurricane Katrina. As awareness of the global water crisis continues to increase, WMI is expanding its Servant Leadership Team and is working to streamline its existing infrastructure.
WMI welcomed Jerry Dea as VP of Operations in January 2007. Mr. Dea brings over 25 years of manufacturing experience to WMI and has held various corporate positions in manufacturing, operations and quality assurance.
In February 2007, Danya Jordan joined the Servant Leadership Team as VP of Development. Ms. Jordan came to WMI after nine years with the American Cancer Society, where she most recently served as the Coastal SC Area Manager.
Other recent staff additions include Jerry Miner as WMI’s new Marketing Director and Carrie Davis as the Communications and Outreach Specialist.
To complement these additions, further organizational changes have been made. George Greene IV, formerly Process Engineer, has become WMI’s new VP of International Programs. Cindy Pennington, formerly Controller for WMI, is now the VP of Finance and Administration.
This transitional growth, which began with the appointment of President and CEO, Brad Reed in October 2006, was initiated to move Water Missions from its contemporary status to one of vastly increased capacity in order to respond to the global water crisis. “The Lord has blessed Water Missions with substantial growth since its inception, and we must build with excellence an infrastructure that can meet the demands of this growth,” says Mr. Reed. “We’re moving from a few individuals doing everything of necessity, to an expanded organization of people with specialized gifts and roles working together as a team to accomplish WMI’s vision and mission.”
