July 05, 2007 - ICT enabled business enterprises especially small & micro cyber enterprises is an important segment of SME sector. It needs support and its business & market interests need to be promoted. This SME segment has lot of potentials. Non- ICT SME companies and cyber enterprises can cooperate on mutually benefiting manner.
Similarly, cyber enterprises situated in rural & semi-urban areas could actively work with the government in speeding up and delivering e-governance and several other services as well as data conversion jobs at local government across the country. The seminar would further help build a strong case for promoting micro and small cyber enterprises.
The present workshop is a prelude to a series of workshop on ICT enterprises which would culminate in the larger CYBER ENTERPRISE SUMMIT at a later date.
Present Seminar
There will be around 30 participants. They would be WASME members, BPO representatives, government officials, NGO representatives as well as industry association representatives etc.
The Seminar would discuss and review economic opportunities coming out of ICT and the role of NGOs in developing IT/ICT entrepreneurship. The seminar would deliberate upon outsourcing potential for cyber enterprises in rural areas and feasibility of BPOs in rural areas and explore various possibilities for them in business and market development.
Speakers
There will be three speakers and they would present government, local government and NGO perspectives, followed by discussions.
