West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, FL (1888PressRelease)
November 15, 2008 - David Fite was looking for a building. Not only did he find it, but he also found a partner for his new Palm Beach real estate firm. For Wade Shavell, the timing couldn’t have been better.
Both are veterans of the Northeast’s rough and tumble real estate game (Fite in New York and Shavell in Connecticut) as well as the intensely personal give and take of Palm Beach. While they prefer the latter, they saw some positives in the former. The result: Fite Shavell & Associates, a hybrid brokerage combining the old school values of personalized service and a team approach with modern technology.
Fite is a former CFO at New York-based Prudential Douglas Elliman and Corcoran Group. Shavell owned the No. 1 independent real estate office in Connecticut before selling it to NRT and accepting an offer to open and run Corcoran’s Florida offices, including Palm Beach. He and Fite had met previously, when both worked for Corcoran, but the possibility of a partnership didn’t develop until recently. Nearly a year ago, Fite began to look for a building to house his new Palm Beach brokerage and heard the old Corcoran headquarters at 101 N. County Road was available.
“I knew Wade owned the building from the time when I was with Corcoran,” Fite said, but their relationship didn’t begin to develop into a partnership until a few weeks ago. “I also knew he had brought a lot of business to Corcoran and that the agents like him and want to work with him. Everything just clicked,” continued Fite.
Even before he talked partnership with Shavell, Fite was hard at work recruiting top agents with the intensity of a Top Ten coach.“I heard through the grapevine that several agents in town wanted to get out of the corporate atmosphere,” Fite Said.
“They weren’t disgruntled; they just wanted to be in an independent office.” So even though the grand opening is still weeks away (Nov.12), Fite already has signed more than 30 associates who boast decades of experience in the Palm Beach market. With Shavell now on board they expect to double that!
“It’s all about establishing a camaraderie and trust within the team,” Shavell said. “We will not compete with our team; we will stand behind them, offer them our expertise, encourage team effort and establish long term commitments within our community.”
Fite Shavell’s state-of-the-art office provides prospective clients and associates the most effective tools to operate on an international scale. Their aim is to position the Palm Beaches -- from Jupiter to Boca Raton and from Wellington to Palm Beach -- as THE destination in the international real estate market for luxury estates, homes and condominiums.
“Fite Shavell & Associates will be proactive in positioning Palm Beach as a destination for the discerning visitor,” Fite said. “We will be ‘The Palm Beach County connection.’ We intend to work closely with county and municipal agencies that understand the importance of communicating our unique lifestyle."
