In a recent newsletter Voice123 sent to their voice over artists, the company presented statistics of what are the most popular projects voice seekers are working on when searching for professional voices through the Voice123 system.
The numbers say that 35.88% of all projects posted belong to business recordings. These projects include recordings for corporate and industrial presentations, trainings, websites, and podcasting. Commercials and promos for radio, television, Internet, and similar media, where the second most posted projects, with 31.28% of all projects. The third place was for phone system recordings, on hold messages, voicemails, and IVR systems, with 20.37%. These three top categories account for more then 87% of all projects posted.
With lower percentages we find documentaries and audio books with 7.34%, character voices with 3.49%, jingles and songs with 0.92%, on-camera recordings and infomercials with 0.45%, and finally, movie trailers with 0.27% of all projects.
These stats, which where taken from projects posted during the past month of December, show how Voice123 is a service that voice talent seekers are using to find any type of voice over recording.
