  • Danville, VA (1888PressRelease) March 26, 2014 - VIRginia International Raceway, one of America's premier road courses, is proud to announce Bernard Richards Manufacture (BRM) as the official timepiece of the track. BRM, the only French watchmaking manufacture, has signed on as a multi-year sponsor for VIR.

Inspired by motorsports, driven by craftsmanship and engineered for exclusivity, BRM is known for its passion for racing and the company's timepieces have made lifelong fans out of some of the sport's top stars like Marco Andretti, Bob Bondurant and Simon Pagenaud. BRM has also established high-profile partnerships with companies like Gulf Oil, Abarth and the Pirelli World Challenge.

"BRM has always been a favorite of many of racing's elite," said Connie Nyholm, CEO and owner of VIR. "At VIR we pride ourselves on our rich past and promising future. Partnering with an organization like BRM that knows luxury is in the details like we do at VIR was a natural fit and one we're incredibly excited about."

As part of the partnership, BRM will have signage throughout VIR and an official "BRM Countdown" clock will be featured on VIR's website to show the amount of time remaining until VIR's next race or event. In addition, BRM Chronographes will be sold onsite at VIR in the TMI Racing Products store and online at www.virnow.com.

"VIR is one of the most exciting road courses in America and a favorite of drivers and fans like myself," said Dean Ross, director of business development for BRM Americas. "We're thrilled to be the official timepiece of the track and serve as a sponsor and partner in the years to come."

This racing season promises to be VIR's best yet with new track improvements and an action-packed schedule. During the offseason, VIR underwent several major renovations to update the facilities including repaving the entire track, widening it in several places and paving in the north paddock. The upgrades will set the stage for VIR's 2014 full schedule of spectator events. This includes the two headlining races this August, the Biscuitville 125 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and the newly formed TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, the result of last year's merger between the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series and the American Le Mans Series, in its inaugural season.
