April 23, 2009 - Metroland Magazine has released readers picks for 2009 with Vincent Zandri ranked in the top three of area scribes. Metroland Magazine is the New York Capital area’s premier alternative publication and this is Zandri’s second consecutive year in the number three spot.
Vincent Zandri is an award-winning author with 18 years experience as a novelist, essayist and freelance journalist. He is the author the much acclaimed As Catch Can (Delacorte) and Godchild (Bantam/Dell). He presently writes for Russia Today TV and has published numerous articles and features in New York Newsday, Beta Culture 11, Hudson Valley Magazine, The Times Union (Albany) and more.
He’s published essays and short fiction in Fugue, Negative Capability, apt., Orange Coast Magazine, Buffalo Spree amongst many others. He holds an M.F.A. in writing from Vermont College of Union University. Zandri currently resides in New York and is the drummer for the Albany-based punk band to Blisterz.
“I am honored to rank amongst the most popular authors in the Capital District. But I'm also humbled to see my name included in the same category as a Pulitzer Prize winning author like William Kennedy,” Zandri said.
