September 15, 2009 - Mr Ángel Sáenz-Badillos, director of the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard and Mr Javier Gutiérrez Palacio, general director of the University of Villanueva, signed the document, on the 22nd of July of this year, so that the students and teachers of Villanueva will be able to complete an international stay at Harvard.
Real Colegio Complutense of Harvard
The Real Colegio Complutense of Harvard is situated next to the Harvard campus, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The College is a study centre, financed by the UCM and affiliated to the University of Harvard, which was created with the fundamental aim of progressing and promoting academic, scientific and cooperation between the two Universities and between other universities and study centres across Spain. Today, the Complutense is the only University in the world that has a cultural agreement of this kind with Harvard.
The courses organised by the Real Colegio Complutense touch a wide range of topics: economy, business management, accountancy, sociology and politics, environmental studies, business law, courses for executives, etc. The teachers of the course are generally highly qualified people from Harvard University, and from other prestigious American Universities. Thanks to the agreement signed between the Real Colegio Complutense and the Universtiy of Villanueva teachers as well as pupils will be able to complete an international course at the RCC in Cambridge, Massachusetts (United States).
The lessons of the courses will be the responsibility of teaching staff from both Universities. The program of studies given will be that already planned in the Título de Grado en Gobierno de Institutiones, a course in the Governing of Institutions, with its international modules.
Governing Institutions
Governing and Communication of Institutions is a fairly new degree course at Villanueva, and it’s come from the need for training of future professionals that are interested in directing, managing and communications in the public and private sector, in public companies, charities and in the private sector, as well as in different institutions and international organisations.
The plan of studies will be four academic years, complementing the degree studies, and with an international character, with various subjects given in English and an international stay at the RCC of Harvard.
