  • (1888PressRelease) December 15, 2010 - Vigneshwara Developers has approached the Haryana Government with a proposal for a rental-based housing project at Mewat, for construction labourers, the project will be called as 'Shramik Awas'. This will ensure decent housing, education and recreational facilities for thousands of construction workers. This is to extend a helping hand towards the unprivileged people since the construction industry is an essential contributor to development of any economy and roads, dams, irrigation works, schools, houses, offices, hospitals, factories and other construction works are solid foundation on which development efforts and living standards are established.

The plans for 'Shramik Awas' labour campus will be to accommodate 5,000 labour at Nuh (Mewat) in about four acres of land. The project cost is proposed to be about Rs 25 crore with a 90:10 debt-equity ratio.

Mr. Sunil Dahiya, Managing Director, Vigneshwara Developers said "We think that the demand for this will be high, and the model is viable at a rental of Rs 20 a day. The project aims at getting better livelihood for the construction labour, which unfortunately remain vulnerable because of the temporary nature of their employment".

Apart from the "Sharmik Awas" project, Vigneshwara has three projects - each 10 acres - coming up in Gurgaon. These are all mixed land use projects entailing commercial, retail, residential and office space development with total built-up area of five million square feet (msf). Moreover, they are planning to execute another project in Manesar, again a mixed land use project, with a built-up area of 1.8 msf, which will be ready by 2011. And a project in Goa, spread across the land of over 150 acres.Vigneshwara plan to develop an industrial estate in Cuncolim (Goa), targeting precision engineering companies, who are suppliers to the shipbuilding industry in Goa. The site is just 15 km from the Karwar naval base (in Karnataka), which is the shipbuilding base for the Indian navy, and so can also target vendors who want to set up shop there.

In all, the blueprint involves 6 msf space earmarked for office development and 8 msf for manufacturing and engineering. If you include residential, recreational and retail zones, we are looking at an overall 20 msf of area, shared Mr. Dahiya.
