Vietnam Nullifies Regulations on the Use of Azo Dyes and Formaldehyde in Textiles
The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade has nullified its regulations concerning the use of azo dyes and formaldehyde in textile products. These new rules become effective November 26, 2016.
- (1888PressRelease) December 02, 2016 - On October 12, 2016, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade has annulled the rules regarding the use of azo dyes and formaldehyde in textile products.
Effective November 26, 2016, Circular No.23/2016/TT-BCT has nullified Circular No.37/2015/TT-BCT, which stipulated content limits and testing procedures for formaldehyde and banned cleavable aromatic amines from azo dyes in textile products.
For stakeholders, these changes mean textile products sold in the local Vietnamese market will no longer be subject to these requirements.
